The Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks held a joint practice on Thursday ahead of their preseason matchup this Saturday — but instead of clean drills, the session was dominated by chaos and fights.
As reported by Brady Henderson of ESPN, the two-hour practice saw around a dozen physical altercations, with tempers flaring on both sides.
One notable moment involved Packers right tackle Zach Tom, who was ejected after throwing punches during a confrontation with Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV and cornerback Devon Witherspoon.
Although Packers quarterback Jordan Love didn’t participate in the drills due to recent left thumb surgery, he witnessed the drama unfold from the sidelines. Love is not expected to play in the preseason finale against Seattle at Lambeau Field.
Speaking after practice, Love addressed the tension-filled session:
“When both sidelines are clearing out, it’s tough,” Love said, via Henderson. “You try your best to help break it up, but things like that are going to happen. There’s really no clear answer for it.”
So far in the 2025 preseason, Green Bay is 1-1, having lost to the New York Jets (30-10) in Week 1 before bouncing back with a 23-19 win over the Colts last weekend.
The Packers will kick off their regular season on September 7, hosting division rival Detroit Lions at Lambeau.
